Peewee Spring

Spring 2018
2018 x Spring

Spring Peewee Developmental Program

The Peewee Spring Program will offer 3 practices per week. The practices will each have a different structure and developmental focus - Small-Area Game Day, 3v3 Game Day, and a Skill-Developmental Day. Information for each day can be found below.

  • Small-Area Game Day - According to USA Hockey, “Small Area Games allow the coach to incorporate many hockey concepts into practice in the form of a game that does not have a pre-determined outcome. These Small Area Games also represent an efficient use of valuable ice time and will help maximize the development of players while dramatically increasing the competition in practice.”
  • 3v3 - 3v3 hockey is a great way for players to learn how to read the ice and make plays.  Loosening the structure allows the players to be more creative with their playmaking.  It also helps in building hockey IQ, which is a crucial part of a hockey player’s development.  Defensively, 3v3 forces the players to be aware of who they are supposed to cover, as well as communicating with your teammates.

Team sizes will range from 6-8 players and coaches will use the horn for line changes.  Teams will divided equally by LHA skill coaches.
