Tier II Girls Program Information

In accordance with the Littleton Hockey Association’s mission statement. The focus of the Hawks Girls Tier II program is to provide an opportunity for competitive players in the South Denver area to train and develop together in a full season program. By providing appropriate coaching, on and off ice training, and competition it is our goal to prepare these players with the necessary skill set to transition them to higher levels of Tier II, Tier I hockey or College.

The Girls Tier II teams will represent LHA while it competes in numerous CAHA Girls Tier II league, out of state tournaments, along with the CAHA State Tournament, Rocky Mountain District Tournament, and USA Hockey Nationals throughout the season. The CAHA Girls Tier II League Weekends/games will be against Lady Rough Riders (LRR), Colorado Springs (CSAHA), The Select and Aspen.

Littleton Hockey Association

LHA is working to continue the great tradition of the U8 Girl Hawks. Here are a couple of the highlights of this fun and unique program that benefits our younger skaters.

  • The Hawks program is designed to promote girls interest in hockey by giving them a unique opportunity to skate with other girls in the U8 age group apart from their regular teams. We schedule two to three scrimmages with other associations around the Denver Metro area that also have a girls hockey program. Then they reciprocate the ice time.
  • In the past it has strengthened the girls confidence on the ice and has helped the players form stronger friendships.  The team is coached by parent coaches, which is a lot of fun for both the parents involved and the players.
  • The Hawks program is in addition to the regular skate times that each player has during the regular season. The total number of extra ice times are usually 2-3 times a month and are optional in case they conflict with regular season games.

LHA U10 and U12 Hawks Tournament Teams

We are very happy to continue the all-girls tournament teams at the U10 and U12 level. Eligible players from within LHA will be rostered on co-ed teams for their regular season roster. The tournament teams will play a number of non-league games vs. other all-girls teams and participate in the Girls Rocky Mountain Silver Sticks Tournament.

There will be a small fee to participate on this team. The fee will be used to cover practice ice, game ice, officials and tournament entry fees.

We are proud to announce that our girls program was accepted in the Jr. NWHL which is the official youth affiliate program of the National Women’s Hockey League.

The Jr. NWHL is the official youth affiliate program of the National Women’s Hockey League. The goal of the Jr. NWHL is to connect future draft picks to our current players. With exclusive access to the NWHL, the Jr. NWHL is the premier network for youth hockey. By connecting the NWHL with community hockey programs, we strive to continue the growth of hockey at all age levels. Boys and girls youth hockey clubs across the nation are welcome to become affiliates free of charge.
