Coach Ryan Herzog

Herzog was in the USAF from 1999-2007. As a Combat Controller for the Special Tactics Unit, he conducted Special Operations during the War on Terror, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He developed extensive education and hands-on experience in a variety of tactical training methods. Today, these training styles are utilized by elite units in the military, law enforcement, firefighting, and other high-risk occupations.
 
Graduating from Trinity International University, Herzog studied Athletic Training for two years, working with several athletic teams to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate a variety of athletic injuries. Studying with the Human Performance and Wellness Department, Herzog gained knowledge in Human Anatomy, Physiology and functional exercise. In addition to this background, Herzog received his B.A. in Organizational Leadership and Communications.
 
As Fitness Director for College Park Athletic Club in Deerfield, Illinois, Herzog developed and implemented unique training programs enhancing the strength and power capacity for high school hockey and various college athletes.
 
In Denver, Herzog is established as the most elite Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He grew up playing ice hockey in Michigan, roller hockey in Ohio, and he is now in a men’s recreation league. Combining this experience and knowlegde, Herzog is developing safe, effective and focused conditioning programs for the Colorado Thunderbirds, as well as the Littleton Hockey Association.
 
Herzog regularly attends and participates at continuing education symposiums and conferences through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Utilizing this knowledge, he conducts presentations on Sports Nutrition and Health & Wellness. Additionally, he presents the Strength and Conditioning segment for USA Hockey Coaching Clinics.
 
Herzog develops Junior A, Division I, National Team, and NHL-caliber athletes in the off-season, demanding diligence with intensity to generate growth with advancement.  
 
Herzog offers many off-season camps and programs designed to build athleticism, character and discipline.

Herzog enjoys playing just as hard as he works, making the most of Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle, racing mountain bikes, snowboarding, and hiking, to name a few. With the support and companionship of his wife, Jess, he is living his dream.

Coach Heidi Kelly

 

Heidi Kelly, from Highlands Ranch, CO, is a personal trainer, business owner, competitive athlete and mother of two young athletes. She understands the business of Sports Performance Training and she understands the needs and desires of athletes – of all ages. Heidi is strategic, dedicated and she gets results!
 
Heidi’s philosophy to training, teaching and mentoring is “Practice Perfect…Perform Perfect!” She believes in teaching athletes how to perform better in whatever sports they play. By executing speed and agility drills perfectly in training, the athletes’ technique will be perfected so it is automatic during game time. And she doesn’t just take this for granted, she is dedicated to getting results – she will coach the athlete, work with their specific sports coach and she will monitor progress by attending games – she believes that results are based on 100% dedication, not only from the athlete but from herself!
 
Heidi knows what it takes to be a first-rate athlete. Since 2001, She has competed in Sprint, Olympic and Half Ironman triathlons, qualifying for nationals at the Olympic and half ironman distance. She is also a tennis player, long distance runner and races half and full marathons. Currently, Heidi is training for Ironman Canada 2012.
 
As owner of Adrenaline Sports LLC, Heidi not only excels in training, but running a successful business. Heidi graduated from Colorado State University with honors, receiving a Bachelors Degree in accounting and later receiving her CPA. Heidi worked in public accounting for four years and worked in the accounting industry doing SEC reporting for three years.

Coach Nate Miller

Nate Miller, raised in a small eastern Colorado town, found his home in sports at the young age of 6 years old.  Learning the demands of a being a tri-sport athlete, combined with growing up in a rural farm town, he learned the value of hard work, a strong moral code, and the value of integrity.

Nate’s hard work, determination and passion for football took him to the Division II level at Colorado Mesa University.  It was his desire, mental toughness and relentless work ethic that afforded him the ability and opportunity to become a four year letterman and play amongst some the regions most elite athletes. 

After graduating from Colorado Mesa University in 2004 with a double degree in Marketing and Management, Nate spent 8 years in the professional sales industry.  The last four years were spent specializing in Sports Medicine/Orthopedics. 

During his time in this position, Nate coached Orthopedic surgeons through detailed surgical procedures, working along side some of the best sports medical professionals in the country. His time in this position not only furthered his in-depth understanding of the human body and its responses at different performance levels, but gave strength to his pre-existing passions for coaching and athletic performance.

Now, Nate brings his unique perspective and experience to the Strength & Conditioning world of POMR.  His experience, in combination with his ability to relate, communicate, and motivate athletes of all levels, adds a strong dynamic to the POMR team.
